What Dave and Vicki said…

We found out about Steve almost six years ago when we considered an extension for an additional bathroom at our previous property. We never went ahead with the build as we decided to move house, but the vision that Steve presented, and the enthusiasm that he showed, on what was a relatively simple piece of work, made us think of his company when we purchased our next property.

This property was in need of extensive renovation and we have used Steve for three major projects in the past two years. These include a full internal refurbishment and restructuring, a large full extension to create a new kitchen/diner and more recently the creation of a car port and separate freestanding garden structure that we use for a home spa and gym area.

A tip for anyone considering using them – the advice they give you is always the best you could want.

Over the past two years, I have had various members of Steve’s team onsite for over 35 weeks. The team works relentlessly to maintain a relationship with a customer and to get everything achieved on time. Did everything finish exactly on time?

No it didn’t, but this was because we tended to change things as the builds went along, and Oakhouse are nothing if not accommodating when it comes to these changes. In fact it is often conversations with Oakhouse, be that from a design perspective, or from a conversational perspective with the people on site, that leads to this change.

A tip for anyone considering using them – the advice they give you is always the best you could want. On some occasions we agreed to differ on ideas that they presented only to then go back and end up doing what was originally suggested. The thing that I most enjoy about what they are all about – they offer not just a building and design service but also a true vision as to what your property can achieve. We have staged our alterations to allow for us to finance them, but although each build has been separate they have always made sure that each stage would not only stand alone, but would also tie into the next project to establish an overall fluid flow to the build.

Cheers,
Dave
